1. What is the Town's code on overgrown properties?: Properties must be cut down and kept free of all high grass and/or wild growth.

3. Is a permit required to remove a tree?: A person shall not allow the removal of any tree without first obtaining a permit from the Town. Please contact the Landscaping Division at 954-693-8088 for additional information.

4. Does the Town provide residential garbage service?: Required garbage and trash removal service is provided by the franchised collector for the Town. Please contact Waste Management at 954-974-7500 for information.

5. What restrictions are there for commercial vehicles?: Trucks, commercial vehicles, agricultural equipment, or construction equipment shall not be parked, stored, or contained within a residentially zoned district including R1, A1 and AG properties.

6. Where can I park/store my boat or trailer?: Personal utility trailers or personal trailers that transport livestock, boats or other machinery or materials may be parked in residentially zoned districts, provided that such recreational vehicle shall not be parked or stored within a driveway, front yard, sidewalk, or swale area. This vehicle must be relocated to the side or rear yard, except for A1, R1 and AG Properties.

8. Are business uses in residential district prohibited?: Commercial businesses are prohibited in residential zoning districts.

9. Can I operate a business from my home?: A Town of Davie business tax receipt (formerly Occupational License) is required to operate in the Town. For more information, please contact Business Tax Receipt at 954-797-1212.

10. What about dogs and cats in Davie?: No person shall own, keep, harbor any dog within the Town unless such dog is licensed and has been vaccinated with a rabies vaccine approved by the United States Department of Agriculture and administered by a veterinarian within one year of the date on which such dog is kept and maintained. All dogs shall be kept secured by a leash or otherwise under the control of an owner or responsible person, or within the real property limits of the owners. It is prohibited for a dog to make excessive noise that disturbs a neighbor within the town limits.

15. What are nuisances and eyesores?: All residential and business owners of the Town of Davie shall maintain their properties in a manner which upholds the property values in their neighborhood as well as ensures the health, safety and welfare of the public is protected. Nuisance conditions can include graffiti, overgrowth, noise, odors and safety issues.
