COVID-19 UPDATE #91
TOWN OF DAVIE REQUIRING MASKS AT ITS FACILITIES
Precautionary measure due to recent spike in COVID-19 cases
En Español
DAVIE, Fla. – Effective Wednesday, August 4, 2021, the Town of Davie is requiring all visitors to its indoor facilities to wear a mask. The rule applies to all individuals regardless of vaccination status. With the significant increase in COVID-19 cases in Broward County, the Town is implementing this precautionary measure to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and to protect residents, visitors, and its employees.
The facial covering requirement only applies to Town-owned and operated facilities, not the Town as a whole. However, individual businesses and facilities still can establish policies at their discretion.
As a reminder, all Town of Davie municipal offices are open for in-person municipal business transactions. In-person services are available by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, visit www.davie-fl.gov/Coronavirus.
The Town will continue to provide disposable masks at its facilities including Davie Town Hall, Pine Island Multipurpose Center, Public Safety Complex, and other Town buildings to visitors who are already not wearing a mask. Visitors who refuse to wear a mask may be asked to leave.
Please note, a mask is not required for those who are under the age of 2 years, or persons with health, religious, or other legally covered reasons.
Residents are encouraged to continue following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These include:
- Wash hands frequently
- Avoid large gatherings
- Stay home if you are sick. If you have been exposed to or experience COVID-19 symptoms, get tested even if you are fully vaccinated.
- Wearing facial coverings when maintaining physical distance is not possible.
COVID-19 vaccine is currently being distributed by several agencies in Broward County. Residents who are eligible to receive the vaccine can sign up by visiting https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/vaccines/vaccine-locator/, call 866-779-6121 or email [email protected].
