COVID-19 UPDATE #87: BROWARD COUNTY REDUCES COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS RELATED TO CAPACITY AND SANITATION REQUIREMENTS FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

En Español

DAVIE, Fla. – The increase in COVID-19 vaccinations throughout Broward County along with the recommendations provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has prompted the County to issue an amendment to the previously issued Comprehensive Emergency Order (CEO). The new County CEO 21-01 addresses a reduction in restrictions related to capacity and sanitation requirements for outdoor activities and events.

To view the new Emergency Order, please visit www.broward.org/CoronaVirus/Documents/Emergency-Order-21-01.pdf

Please be reminded that vaccines can help stop the spread of COVID-19 and its variants, and residents are urged to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Broward County encourages you to act as a “vaccine ambassador” for those who may be vaccine hesitant. Share your experience and help educate them on the importance of achieving "herd immunity" so our community can ease additional restrictions without compromising public health.

Please note that social distancing and facial covering (mask) requirements will remain in place for the foreseeable future.

Certain indoor sanitization and signage requirements will also continue. As vaccination rates increase, regulations will reduce further with additional amendments to the Comprehensive Emergency Order.

As of April 18, 2021, a total of 453,269 individuals in Broward have been fully vaccinated and an additional 280,657 individuals have received at least their first dose.

How to Get Vaccinated
