NEWLY RENOVATED BERMAN PARK PLAYGROUND IS NOW OPEN FOR PLAY

DAVIE, Fla. - The Town of Davie is proud to announce that the newly renovated playground at Berman Park, located at 5801 S.W. 58th Avenue, is now open to the public from 9 a.m. to sunset.

New upgrades to the park include climbing play equipment, swing set, spinner, new benches, playground shade, as well as a touchless faucet inside the freshly painted restrooms.

“Having the opportunity to improve our park system with new accessible play equipment represents our commitment to enhancing our public spaces while encouraging health and wellness through exercise and age-appropriate developmental activities for children,” said Jeffrey Pohlman, Davie Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Director.

Berman Park now provides a variety of ADA-compliant playground equipment including a swing set with an ADA seat and a “mommy and me” seat. Further enhancements include a new ADA walkway connection from the parking lot to the restrooms and new curbing featuring a freshly painted disability parking spot.

COVID-19 Safety Reminders

Per Broward County COVID-19 Comprehensive Emergency Order (CEO), the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines will be observed at all Town parks. Visitors are required to wear face coverings, maintain at least six-feet distance from individuals outside of their party, participate in limited active and passive uses by individuals and families, and not gather in groups larger than ten.

Park staff, Park Rangers, and Police personnel will conduct periodic checks to ensure compliance with CDC guidelines. Being able to reopen facilities and start programs even while the pandemic continues will require the public’s assistance to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of facilities, wear facial coverings as required, and social distance. Any violations may result in the closure of the playground.
