NW 136TH AVENUE AND STATE ROAD 84 INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS: OVERNIGHT FULL CLOSURE ON JANUARY 27, 2021

DAVIE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Four, is continuing enhancements on the NW 136th Avenue and State Road 84 Intersection Improvements project. This will result in an overnight full closure on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at 10 p.m. through Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 6 a.m.
The closure will take place Westbound SR 84, just East of SW 136th Avenue to accommodate the installation of an overhead sign structure.
Traffic will be detoured as follows:
- The slip ramp from westbound State Road 84 to Westbound I-595;
- Then via right lane to Westbound State Road 84, and
- A U-turn at Weston Road to Eastbound State Road 84.
Project Description
This project scope includes replacing and widening the existing bridge over the North New River Canal, resulting in an additional southbound through lane and designated bike lanes; adding a designated right-turn lane from westbound SR 84 to northbound NW 136th Avenue; upgrading existing lighting to LED; and milling and resurfacing the roadway.
