Davie Solid Waste Cancellation/Postponed Services:
- WasteManagement has concluded garbage and recycling operations as of 1:00 p.m. today,
Friday, September 8, 2017. Please remove all garbage and recycling containers from the curb. - Regularlyscheduled garbage and recycling service has been cancelled for Saturday, September 9, 2017 and Monday,
September 11, 2017. - For Townresidents on the Green Bulk Waste Schedule (September 4-9), bulk pickup is cancelled for today, Friday,
September 8, 2017 and Saturday, September 9, 2017. If you have bulk items outside, please secure them inside until thehurricane has passed. - The Town of Davie
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), Electronics and Textile Recycling and DrugCollection Event originally scheduled for Sunday, September 10, 2017 has been
postponed. The event is rescheduled for Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Pine IslandPark, 3801 S. Pine Island Rd from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. - The Waste Management bulk drop off facility located at 2380
College Avenue, will be closed this Saturday, September 9, 2017. Thefacility is anticipating to resume its normal operations for residential drop
off next Saturday, September 16, 2017.
BrowardCounty Landfill:
Broward County
Landfill located at 7101 S.W. 205 Avenue near the intersection of SheridanStreet and U.S. 27, will remain open today, Friday, September 8, 2017 until 6
p.m. for bulk waste.
Pet Friendly Shelter Open:
Broward County has opened a second Pet Friendly shelter. Theshelter is located at Everglades High School located at 17100 SW 48th Ct, Miramar, FL 33027. The shelter began
accepting residents at 1:00 p.m.
Pet Survival Kit:
Recommended items for a petsurvival kit include:
- A crate or
carrier large enough for the animal to stand and turn around (use a treator toy to help pets adjust to the carrier beforehand) - Leashes and collars
- Two week supply of food (moist or canned) with manual can opener
- Two week supply of bottled water
- Water and food dishes
- Cat litter, litter pan and puppy training pads
- Favorite toys, blankets and treats
- Emergency phone numbers for veterinarian, animal shelters and
friends/relatives - Veterinary clinic address and phone number
- Veterinary records with rabies certificate and currentBroward County license tag number
- Medications with instructions
- Cleaning supplies (newspaper, plastic bags with ties, paper
towels, disinfectant), litter scooper - A photo of you and your pet together (to help prove thepet is yours), and one with the pet by itself, showing any
distinguishing marks that will help with identification
