South Florida Placed Under a Hurricane Warning and Updates
on Shelters, Airport and County Transit

The National Hurricane Center has placed
South Florida under a HurricaneWarning.
A Hurricane Warning is in effect for:
§ Jupiter Inlet southward around
the Florida peninsula to Bonita Beach
§ Florida Keys
§ Lake Okeechobee
§ Florida Bay
A Storm Surge Warning isin effect for:
§ Jupiter Inlet southward around
the Florida peninsula to Bonita
§ Beach
§ Florida Keys
A Storm Surge Watch is ineffect for:
§ North of Jupiter Inlet to
Sebastian Inlet
§ North of Bonita Beach to Venice
A Hurricane Warning requires immediate action. This means a weather hazard is imminent. During a weather warning, it is important to take action: grab the
emergency kit you have prepared in advance and head to safety immediately. Bothwatches and warnings are important, but warnings are more urgent.
Shelter Information:
§ The Broward County Pet Friendly
Shelter located at Millennium Middle School/Challenger Elementary School isfull.
§ The Pompano Beach High School
shelter is full.
§ If youbelieve you qualify for special needs shelter and are not already registered,
you must call 311 immediately.
§ Personsexperiencing homelessness are directed to seek shelter. Call the Homeless
Helpline at 954-563-4357.
FLLAirport/Broward County Transit:
§ Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood
International Airport is expected to close at 7:45PM Friday. They haveexperienced several delays and cancellations.
§ Broward
County Transit remains on a Saturday schedule Thursday through Friday. ExpressBus Service will continue until the arrival of tropical storm force winds.
Routes 15, 23, 56 and 88 will remain on a weekday schedule.
