Town of Davie Thanksgiving Holiday Closures

TOWN OF DAVIE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY CLOSURES; SOLID WASTE SERVICES

DAVIE, Fla. – The Town of Davie governmental offices will be closed on Thursday, November 26, and Friday, November 27, 2020, in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Municipal offices will resume normal operations on Monday, November 30, 2020.  


Town Park Information 

Town of Davie parks and open spaces will remain open for passive use from 9 a.m. to sunset. The following recreational facilities will be closed on Thanksgiving Day: 

  • Pine Island Fitness and Aquatic Center
  • Pine Island Multipurpose Center
  • Bamford Sports Complex 

Operational changes still in effect at parks include the suspension of facility rentals, transactions at parks, youth and adult activities, sports programs, and activities at community centers.

All parks and open spaces are open except for Berman Park and Wolf Lake due to flooding. To view the complete list of opened parks, please visit the Town of Davie COVID-19 Reopening Information page here

Residents and visitors are encouraged to continue adhering to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines on face coverings as well as maintaining at least a six-feet distance from individuals outside of their party. Restrictions for the parks include limited active and passive uses by individuals and families and prohibiting the gathering of groups larger than ten. 

Davie park amenities open for use on Thursday, November 26, 2020 include:

  • Tennis courts are open for singles and doubles play only. Tennis courts at Pine Island Park/Bamford Sports Complex are closed for resurfacing.
  • Volleyball courts are open for singles and doubles play only.

Parks and facilities will be open regular hours of operation on Friday, November 27, 2020. For additional park information, please contact the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department at 954-797-1146.


Solid Waste Services

Trash, recycling, and bulk trash collection services will operate on normal schedule.
