Hurricane Irma Advisory #9

The National Hurricane Center has placed
South Florida under a Hurricane Watch.The watch is in effect for:

§  Jupiter Inlet southward around the
Florida peninsula to Bonita Beach

§  Florida Keys

§  Lake Okeechobee

§  Florida Bay

A HurricaneWatch means that hurricane conditions are possible within the watch
area.  A watch is typically issued 48hours before the anticipated first occurrence of tropical-storm-force winds,
conditions that make outside preparations difficult or dangerous.


The Town urges everyone to finalizetheir hurricane preparations for Hurricane Irma.

Solid Waste Information:

§  Waste
Management will cease regular garbage and recycling operations as of 1:00 p.m.Friday, September 8, 2017.  This
cessation is necessary to provide sufficient time for trucks to dispose oftheir contents, the securing of Waste Management facilities and allow the
opportunity for Waste Management employees to finish preparations at theirhomes and secure their families.  Therefore,
if you have not received service by 1 p.m., please
 remove all garbage and recycling containers from the curb bythe end of the day Friday.

§  Regularly
scheduled garbage and recycling service has been cancelled for Saturday,September 9, 2017 and Monday, September 11, 2017.
 

§  For Town
residents on the Green Bulk Waste Schedule (September 4-9), bulk pickup iscancelled for Friday, September 8, 2017 and Saturday, September 9, 2017.  If you have bulk items outside, please secure
them inside until the storm has passed.

§  The Town of DavieHousehold Hazardous Waste (HHW), Electronics and Textile Recycling and Drug
Collection Event originally scheduled for Sunday, September 10, 2017 has beenpostponed. The event is rescheduled for Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Pine Island
Park, 3801 S. Pine Island Rd from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

§  The Waste Management bulk drop off facility located at 2380College Avenue, will be closed this Saturday, September 9, 2017.  The
facility will resume its normal operations for residential drop off nextSaturday, September 16, 2017.

Please take note of the
closures/cancellations below:

§  All Town of Davie governmental offices closed on Thursday,September 7 until further notice.

§  All Town of Davie organized sports activities are cancelled until further
notice.

§  All Town of Davie parks areclosed beginning tomorrow, Friday, September 8, 2017 until further notice.

§  The Town of Davie Green and
Blue Bus Routes have ceased operations until further notice

 

Town of Davie Horse Release Program:

We are no longer accepting applicationsfor the Town of Davie’s Horse Release Program.
