TOWN OF DAVIE APPOINTS NEW POLICE CHIEF
DAVIE, Fla. – Davie Town Administrator Richard J. Lemack has appointed Stephen E. Kinsey to the position of Chief of Police for the Davie Police Department. On Tuesday, September 29, 2020, Chief Kinsey took his oath of office during a virtual ceremony.
Kinsey comes to Davie as a seasoned law enforcement professional with over 27 years of experience including Undersheriff at the Broward Sheriff's Office and Assistant Chief of Police at the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.
Having served in a supervisory or command capacity in all three Police Department Bureaus (Operations, Investigations, and Administration), Kinsey is uniquely qualified as he is a long time Davie resident with an understanding of our diverse community offerings and culture.
He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, holds a Master of Science in Public Administration from Florida International University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology with a Minor in Sociology from Florida State University.
He is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), Florida State and Broward County Chiefs of Police organizations.
