DAVIE, FLA., – The Davie Utilities Department is performing sanitary sewer improvements for the restoration of old pipes in neighborhoods near University Drive and College Avenue Improvements will be performed through Friday, October 30, 2020. (See map below)
A sanitary pipelining will be added to create new, watertight, and long-lasting pipes. Sewer lining work will be done through manholes on the street and require little to zero digging to avoid disruptive excavation.
Night work hours will take place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (excluding weekends and holidays).
Affected Neighborhoods Include:
- Homes on the corner of University Drive and Nova Drive, continuing east to College Avenue.
- Households South of College Avenue to University of Florida (UF) IFAS Research and Education Center located at 3205 College Avenue, Davie.
Necessary utilities vactor trucks will be within the affected areas operating vacuum and bypass pumps to clean and maintain current sewer services.
Residents may hear an in-pipe noise, or a “humming noise”, coming from the pipes and are encouraged to cover in-house drains with a wet towel or zip-bag filled with water. If a small odor is present, run water in sinks and drains to fill p-traps and cover floor drains. Odors should dissipate quickly.
Your understanding is greatly appreciated, and we apologize for any inconvenience as we complete the sewer improvements within the neighborhood. For questions regarding the project, call 954-327-3742 or visit www.davie-fl.gov/925/Wastewater-Collections.
