HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE (HHW), ELECTRONICS RECYCLING, PRESCRIPTION DROP-OFF AND SHRED-A-THON EVENT WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 29, 2020
DAVIE, Fla. – The Town of Davie’s Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), Electronics Recycling, Prescription Drug Drop-Off and Shred-A-Thon Event will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Davie Town Hall, 6591 Orange Drive.
These events are for Davie residents only. To participate, all individuals are required to bring proof of residency. Businesses are prohibited from using this event as a disposal site.
Event Schedule:
- HHW, Electronics, Recycling, and Prescription Drug Drop-Off - 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Shred-A-Thon - 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Please note that this will be the last Shred-A-Thon event for the year. Only five file-size boxes will be accepted per vehicle. No items for shredding will be accepted after 12 p.m.
Acceptable HHW and electronics items are aerosol cans, antifreeze/coolant, batteries, auto batteries, household cleaners, garden chemicals, gasoline, latex/oil-based paint, cables, computers, DVD players, keyboards, radios, printers, scanners, televisions (no tube TVs), and stereo components. Items that are not accepted are asbestos, explosives or ammunition, medical infectious waste, non-residential waste, and tires.
Acceptable items at the drug collection are prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and pet medicines. Items that are not accepted are needles/sharps, liquids, gels, and aerosols or radioactive chemotherapy medicines.
All visitors must adhere to the current Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and social distancing measures while participating in the event. Facial coverings are required per Broward County Emergency Order 20-07.
These events may be canceled due to rain, excessive winds, or other hazardous conditions. Restrooms will not be available at Davie Town Hall.
