BROWARD COUNTY ISSUES EMERGENCY ORDER 20-14; RESTAURANT CLOSING HOURS MODIFIED; ALCOHOL SALES RESTRICTIONS
DAVIE, Fla. – Broward County has issued Emergency Order 20-24, effective immediately. This Order modifies some business restrictions. These modifications, however, could be rescinded if the COVID-19 positivity numbers begin to rise again due to non-compliance.
Highlights of Emergency Order 20-24 include:
As we approach the Labor Day holiday weekend and expect visitors from around the country, it is even more important that residents remain vigilant by staying home when possible, not participating in large parties (social gatherings of more than 10 people), continuing to wash hands frequently, wearing face coverings and practicing social distancing, all of which are mandated under current Emergency Orders.
Residents are reminded that while the numbers have started heading downward, they are still not where they need to be and now is not the time to let our guard down. "We are working hard to bring the positivity rate down in Broward County so that schools, businesses and the economy can reopen safely," said County Administrator Bertha Henry, "but we can’t do it alone. Everyone must do their part to help bring the numbers down during this public health, economic and social crisis."
Residents are urged to visit Mybroward.Broward.org or call 311 to anonymously report violations.
