TOWN OF DAVIE FIRE DEPARTMENT RECEIVES AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION’S MISSION: LIFELINE EMS GOLD PLUS RECOGNITION AWARD
DAVIE, Fla. – On July 23, 2020, the Town of Davie Fire Rescue Department received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® EMS Gold Plus Award for implementing quality improvement measures for the treatment of patients who experience severe heart attacks.
The Mission: Lifeline’s EMS Gold Plus Recognition achievement celebrates emergency service personnel and organizations that demonstrate a commitment to providing up-to-date treatment guidelines and high standards of performance to improve patient care in their community.
“Davie Fire Rescue is dedicated to providing optimal care for heart attack patients,” said Jorge Gonzalez, Assistant Chief. “We are pleased to be recognized for our dedication and achievements in emergency medical care efforts through Mission: Lifeline. The men and women of this department are committed to providing community training and skilled responses to all types of emergencies. Through continuous training, efficient and effective operations, advanced equipment, and a commitment to our mission, we are prepared to meet a variety of emergency and non-emergency situations.”
The Mission: Lifeline initiative provides tools, training, and other resources to support heart attack care following protocols from the most recent evidence-based treatment guidelines. Mission: Lifeline’s EMS recognition program recognizes emergency medical services for their efforts in improving systems of care to rapidly identify suspected heart attack patients, promptly notify the medical center and trigger an early response from the awaiting hospital personnel.
