COVID-19 UPDATE 53:

FLORIDA STATE OF EMERGENCY EXTENDED 60 DAYS

En Español

DAVIE, Fla. – State of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has extended the state of emergency in Florida as the number of coronavirus cases continues to climb statewide.

The state of emergency declared on March 9, 2020 in Executive Order 20-52 and was extended by Executive Order 20-114. The Executive Order 20-166 extends the state of emergency for another 60 days for the entire State of Florida.

This order also allows the Director of the Division of Emergency Management to continue to execute the State’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and other response, recovery, and mitigation plans necessary to cope with the emergency.

Residents are reminded to stay home if they are able, wash their hands often, observe social distancing, limit social gatherings to 10 people or fewer people, and wear facial coverings in public and at Town parks, open spaces and trails. Social distancing and facial coverings when in public areas are not only required in Broward County, they are critical to slowing the spread of COVID-19.
