COVID-19 UPDATE 50:
TOWN OF DAVIE AND BROWARD COUNTY JOINT CODE ENFORCEMENT OPERATIONS
DAVIE, Fla. – In an effort to reduce the COVID-19 positive rates, the Town of Davie is working collaboratively with Broward County to enforce the COVID-19 Emergency Order requirements issued by the County. At a recent meeting, the Town Council approved an interlocal agreement with the County for funding to support code enforcement services related to COVID-19 complaints.
The Town’s Code Enforcement officers, along with the support of the Davie Police Department, are conducting inspections of both proactive enforcement and County-dispatched complaints. To date, based on the COVID-19 business complaint dashboard, the Town has 56 complaints ranging from not adhering to social distancing guidelines to not following sanitization requirements.
The Town’s Code Enforcement officers are ramping up efforts this July 4th weekend to ensure businesses are following the Emergency Order requirements. This will not only help to reduce the COVID-19 transmission rate in our community, but also help to protect our residents, visitors, and patrons.
If you observe that a business is not following the preventive guidelines, you can report it anonymously online at MyBroward.Broward.org, or call 311.
Residents are reminded, especially over the holiday weekend, to celebrate responsibly. Follow the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines such as social distancing, complying with facial covering requirements, washing or sanitizing hands, and staying home if you can do so.
As a community, we all have a social and economic responsibility in helping to combat this virus for the health and prosperity of our families, neighbors, and businesses.
