COVID-19 UPDATE#30

DAVIE PARKS, PLAYGROUNDS, AND POOLS REMAIN CLOSED; BROWARD COUNTY PARKS REOPEN WITH RESTRICTIONS

En Español

DAVIE, Fla. – Broward County has issued Emergency Order 20-08 which allows for the reopening of recreational facilities on a limited basis.  This order allows for municipalities to be more restrictive than Broward County pertaining to facilities reopening and the guidelines for operation.

The Town of Davie has opted to keep all Davie parks, playgrounds and pools whether public or private properties closed until further notice as Broward County have opened regional facilities in Davie including:

  • Long Key Natural Area (grounds) - 3501 SW 130 Avenue
  • Tree Tops Park – 3900 Nob Hill Road
  • Vista View Park – 4001 SW 142 Avenue

These parks are of sufficient size to ensure social distancing and compliance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. In addition, these facilities will have on-site monitoring. Activities like walking, running, jogging, and horseback riding are allowed, while the use of park buildings or park equipment such as picnic tables and chairs, playgrounds, campgrounds, public pools, and outdoor exercise equipment remains prohibited.  These facilities will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For a complete list of open Broward County Parks  please visit https://www.broward.org/Parks/Pages/COVID19PARKUPDATES.aspx

Public and private golf courses will also be allowed to reopen as strict operation guidelines have been established that can be monitored by on-site staff.

As a reminder, the Davie trail system remains open for public use. Please be reminded that all CDC guidelines, including those regarding social distancing, facial coverings, and hygiene, must be observed at all times by all persons using any of these newly opened amenities. This includes observing social distancing (maintaining six feet from others) and wearing facial coverings.

The Davie Town Council will reevaluate the existing data at its May 6, 2020, Town Council meeting to determine the next steps in reopening our community.
