PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTANCE LEARNING EXTENDED; FOOD DISTRIBUTION INFORMATION; DAVIE SPECIAL EVENTS CANCELLATIONS

DAVIE, Fla. – As the Town of Davie continues to experience impacts from COVID-19, the health and well-being of our residents, businesses, and staff is paramount.  Please take note of the following updates:

Distance Learning Extended

On Saturday, April 18, 2020, Governor Ron DeSantis and Commissioner of Education Richard Corcoran recommended that all Florida public and private K-12 schools continue distance learning and keep school campuses closed through June 3, 2020, the remainder of the 2019-2020 academic year.


  • Distance Learning Technical Support Line – Starting Monday, April 20, 2020

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Distance Learning Users - Starting Monday, April 20, the District is launching a Tech Support Line to answer questions and provide technical assistance on computer devices, academic platforms, and programs such as Canvas, MS Teams, and Office, etc. Tech Support will be available Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.


BCPS created several new options to provide more affordable internet services to meet the needs of struggling Broward families and staff who do not presently have internet access. Click here to read more


Food Distribution Information

In partnership with Feeding South Florida, the City of Cooper City will be hosting a drive-thru food distribution event from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at the Suellen H. Fardelmann Sports Complex located at 10300 Stirling Rd, Cooper City, FL 33026. Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Recipients are reminded to wear facial coverings and to remain in their vehicles and open their trunk when it is their turn in line. Volunteers will be distributing food to each vehicle to ensure social distancing requirements are maintained. Click here to learn more about the food distribution event.

Davie Special Events

The Town of Davie is canceling all special events at Town facilities through the end of June 2020.  Events covered by this cancellation include:

Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

  • Touch-a-Truck
  • Junior High School Rodeo
  • June Pro Rodeo
  • Take a Kid Fishin’ Rodeo – Postponed until Further Notice
