COVID-19 UPDATE #13

HEALTHCARE OPTIONS FOR BROWARD COUNTY RESIDENTS

En Español

DAVIE, Fla., - As the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Florida Department of Health responds to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), several health resources have been made available to the public. For all prior information posted, please visit our website at www.davie-fl.gov/coronavirus.

C.B. Smith Park COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing

Memorial Health has established a new telephone pre-registration process to reduce wait time at C.B. Smith Park. Members of the public will be able to complete the criteria screening and provide demographical information ahead of time, which is required to get tested at the park. The number to call is 954-276-4680. The hours of operation starting Tuesday, March 24, 2020, are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 7 days a week. Visit Memorial Healthcare System website for a list of who should call and what to expect.

Virtual Visits

With the COVID-19 pandemic, several healthcare providers are offering virtual visits to those who prefer to consult with a doctor from the privacy of their home. Virtual visits allow doctors to consult with patients remotely, saves time, reduces wait time in emergency rooms/doctor’s offices, and reduces the chances of exposing or being exposed to an illness. Please contact your healthcare provider to inquire if they offer this service.

COVID-19 Hotline

Broward County, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health, has opened a special telephone line to assist in answering public questions about COVID-19. Call takers can also conduct over-the-phone pre-screening for testing eligibility. The new number is 954-357-9500. The temporary COVID-19 call center will accept calls from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week.
