COVID-19 UPDATE #4:

2020 PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY ELECTIONS ON TUESDAY, MARCH 17, 2020

DAVIE, Fla. – As Florida prepares for the 2020 Presidential Preference Primary Elections, all polling sites will be open on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. All voting precincts at Town facilities will be open for the primary elections. These facilities include:

  • Davie Police Athletic League, 4300 SW 57th Terrace
  • Ivanhoe Fire Station Community Room, 6101 SW 148th Avenue
  • Old Davie School Historical Museum, 6650 Griffin Road
  • Pine Island Multipurpose Center, 3801 S. Pine Island Road
  • Robbins Lodge Community Hall, 4005 Hiatus Road
  • Shenandoah Community Center, 14601 SW 14th Street

The Florida Division of Elections is working closely with state health officials to ensure that poll workers and voters can be confident that voting is safe.

The following statement is attributable to Secretary of State Kathy Hobbs (AZ), Secretary of State Laurel M. Lee (FL), Elections Board Chairman Charles Scholz (IL) and Secretary of State Frank LaRose (OH): As each of our four states prepare for voters to head to the polls on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, we are working closely with our state health officials to ensure that our poll workers and voters can be confident that voting is safe.

Unlike concerts, sporting events or other mass gatherings where large groups of people travel long distances to congregate in a confined space for an extended period of time, polling locations see people from a nearby community coming into and out of the building for a short duration.

Note: Special elections may be called at any time during the year. Local elections may also be held throughout the year. Check the Local Elections Database which contains dates as reported by the county for elections (county-specific, municipal, special district, or other local election) scheduled within one county. Contact your county Supervisor of Elections for the most up-to-date information.
