WOUNDED WARRIOR AMPUTEES SUPER BOWL LIV GAME OF HONOR, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29, 2020
DAVIE, Fla. - The Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team (WWAFT) will host the 9th Annual Super Bowl Game of Honor on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. The game will be held at Nova High School located at 3600 College Avenue, Davie, FL 33314 at 6:00 p.m. There is a $10 admission fee for adults. Students, children and military families will enter for free. All proceeds are donated to WWAFT and provides service dogs for veterans.
Beginning at 5:15 p.m., Davie Fire Rescue and Police Departments will escort the players bus from Broward College – Central Campus’s baseball field to Nova High School football field.
The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students and its football team will be in attendance to pay tribute to the late coach Aaron Feis and pay respect to all the families who lost loved ones during the horrific incident on February 14, 2018.
“The Town of Davie takes great pride in honoring our veterans who have served our country so valiantly and paved the way for generations to come,” said Mayor Judy Paul. “I am thrilled that Davie was selected as the host community from amongst the numerous municipalities throughout Broward County. I hope to see you all there.”
At a recent Town Council Meeting, Town of Davie Mayor Judy Paul proclaimed Wednesday, January 29, 2020 as Wounded Warrior Appreciation Day to support the Wounded Warrior Football Team’s mission of raising awareness and support for our wounded warriors and their families.
WWAFT is comprised of Iraq and Afghanistan conflict amputees. The team’s current records stand at 20-0 and over 400 National Football League alumni have participated in these games.
