1-Day Cold Weather Emergency Advisory

DAVIE, Fla. - The National Weather Service is predicting low temperatures overnight on Monday, December 2, 2019, including wind chill, in the upper 30's to low 40's in Broward County.

Therefore, Broward County has declared a 1-Day Cold Weather Emergency starting at 6:30 p.m., Monday, December 2 through 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 3rd.

Homeless persons are advised to report to the following Pickup and/or Shelter locations (see map), no later than 6:30 p.m. on Monday night for transportation or access to special cold-night shelters:


Pompano Beach
Northeast Transit Center - Corner of Martin Luther King Blvd. & Dixie Hwy.
(Pickup Location Only) 

Fort Lauderdale
Salvation Army - 1445 West Broward Boulevard
(Shelter and Pickup Location)  

Broward Outreach Center - 2056 Scott Street
(Shelter Location) 

However, if the weather forecast changes to predict warmer or colder conditions, cold weather emergency shelter nights may be cancelled or extended. If there are changes to this declaration, they will be issued no later than 1PM on the date of the event.
