HACIENDA VILLAGE WATER CHLORINATION PROCESS
DAVIE, Fla. - The Town of Davie Utilities Department will temporarily switch to using free chlorine in its drinking water system for the Hacienda Village area, located East of US 441 (State Road 7) and North of I-595 (see area highlighted by red box on the map).
The Town of Davie Utilities – Hacienda Village, is a consecutive water system that obtain drinking water from the City of Fort Lauderdale. The free chlorination preventative system maintenance will begin on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 9 a.m. through Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 9 a.m.
Free chlorination is a common practice for water systems using chloramines for disinfection. The chlorination period is anticipated to be transparent to our customers; however, some may notice a slight change in the taste or smell of their tap water. In addition, some customers may see water running from fire hydrants in their neighborhoods, which is part of the normal maintenance process.
This procedure will affect the City of Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Oakland Park, Port Everglades Authority, Village of Sea Ranch Lakes, Wilton Manors, sections of the Town of Davie and Tamarac (east of State Road 7/441).
For more information, please contact the Town of Davie Utilities at 954-327-3740 or for after hours, 954-327-3750.
