DAVIE, Fla.-The Town of Davie’s Fire Rescue Department has partnered with Gift of Life to hold a bone marrow donor registry drive in support of a member on Davie’s Fire Rescue team fighting leukemia.
Where: Fire Administration Building - 6901 Orange Drive, Davie, FL 33314.

Times:9:30-10:30 a.m., 11a.m-12p.m. 1-2 p.m. or 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Gift of Life is an organization that facilitates transplants for children and adults suffering from life-threatening illnesses, including leukemia, lymphoma, other cancers and genetic diseases.
Joining the registry will take about five minutes. Participants will be asked to complete a cheek swabbing kit, which will be returned in a prepaid envelope. The completed cheek swabs will go to a laboratory for tissue typing, and that information will be entered in the international registry. Transplant centers can search the registry to find matching donors for their patients.
Joining the registry is as easy as a simple swab of your cheek. Eligible donors must be between the ages of 18 to 60 and in general good health, meet the guidelines and be willing to donate to any patient, at any time, worldwide. Contributions of any amount are appreciated.
