City of Ft. Lauderdale Water Service Interruption For Residents In Its Service Areas
Davie, Fla., - On Wednesday, July 17, 2019, a contractor doing construction work near the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport damaged a 42-inch water main that supplies raw water from the City of Fort Lauderdale’s wellfields into the Fiveash water treatment plant.
In order to repair the line, the water supply from the wellfields is shut off. This means that no water is currently feeding the Fiveash water plant.
Residents and businesses in Fort Lauderdale and neighboring cities that receive their water from Fort Lauderdale should be prepared to be without water service beginning as early as Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 7 a.m. and lasting at least 24 hours. This notice only impacts Davie residents who live east of U.S. 441 (State Road 7) and north of I-595 (see highlighted area in map below).
While water service is still operating, residents and businesses are urged to limit use. Please turn off all irrigation systems and only use water when absolutely necessary. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
For more information, please call the City of Fort Lauderdale 24-Hour Neighbor Service Center at 954-828-8000.
