DAVIE TOWN CLERK EARNS MASTER MUNICIPAL CLERK DESIGNATION

Davie, Fla. – The Town of Davie is pleased to announce that Evelyn Roig, Town Clerk, has earned her Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), Inc. IIMC grants the MMC designation only to those municipal clerks who complete demanding education requirements; and who have a record of significant contributions to their local government, their community and state. The MMC program is an advanced professional designation that prepares participants to perform complex municipal duties.

Roig has more than 25 years of experience working in both the county and municipal level. She began working at the Town of Davie in 2009 as the Assistant Town Clerk. In 2014, she transitioned to her current role as Town Clerk. Her tenure in public administration is a testament to her commitment and dedication as a public servant. She has a Master of Public Administration, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Legal Studies and also obtained her paralegal certification from Florida International University. She also is an active member of the Broward Municipal Clerk’s Association.

“It is an honor to receive this designation,” Roig said. “The commitment of our Town Council and Administrators actively prompts us to be ahead of changes in our respective fields. I am grateful to have such a supportive team by my side.”

Town Administrator Richard J. Lemack said he commends Roig for this accomplishment.

“We are very pleased to hear that Ms. Roig has attained her Master Municipal Clerk designation,” Lemack said. “Her dedication to her career is a true symbol of the excellence the Town of Davie strives to achieve, and we look forward to her continued contributions.”

The Town Clerk’s office performs numerous functions that include serving as the qualifying officer for candidates for Town elections, as well as preparing and maintaining complete and accurate records for the Town of Davie’s proceedings, serving as the official custodian of all Town records including meeting minutes, resolutions, ordinances, contracts, agreements, deeds and easements and other documents, providing staff support to the Town councilmembers, and provides assistance to the citizens and other entities.
