Town of Davie Celebrates National Park and Recreation Month with Free Activities
Month-long celebration highlights the fun and games at local parks
DAVIE, Fla.– In celebration of National Park and Recreation Month, the Town of Davie’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department has put together a series of free activities for residents of all ages and abilities to enjoy during the Month of July 2019. These activities include basketball, chair exercise, Zumba, swimming, yoga and more.
Since 1985, America has celebrated July as Park and Recreation Month. This National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA)program were created to raise awareness of the vital impact that parks and recreation have on communities across the U.S.
“There’s no better time than National Park and Recreation Month to highlight all of our beautiful parks, outdoor amenities and numerous recreation programs” Jeffrey Pohlman, Parks and Recreation Department Director, said. “ We work relentlessly to ensure all of our residents have a great place to play, exercise and enjoy the outdoors.”
Anyone enjoying the parks this July is encouraged to share how they are “Game On” for parks and recreation with the hashtag #GameOnJuly.
