NW 136th Avenue at SR 84 Intersection Improvements Project in Davie, Plantation and Sunrise
DAVIE, Fla.- Construction for the NW 136th Avenue at SR 84 Intersection Improvements Project starts on Monday, May 6, 2019. The project is scheduled to be completed Fall 2020.
During the construction, traffic will be impacted and residents are asked to seek alternative routes and proceed with caution:
- During the replacement of the bridge traffic will be reduced to 2 lanes in each direction.
- Single lane closures may occur overnight, Sunday through Thursday, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
- Additional lane closure and detour information will be provided in the weekly traffic report distributed by FDOT.
See below the information regarding construction improvements phases:
Phase I Improvements
Remove the existing traffic separator along NW 136th Avenue within the project limits
Relocate City of Sunrise’s existing force main
Shift all traffic lanes on NW 136th Avenue at SR 84 east
Phase II Improvements
Pedestrians will be detoured to the east side of the road during this phase
Remove and replace the New North River Canal southbound bridge
Widen southbound NW 136 Avenue for the new curb and gutter and sidewalk
Phase III Improvements
Pedestrians will be detoured to the west side during this phase
Shift all traffic lanes on NW 136 Avenue west to the newly constructed southbound bridge
Remove and replace the New North River Canal northbound bridge
Widen northbound NW 136 Avenue for the new curb and gutter and sidewalk
Widen westbound SR 84 to accommodate a second dedicated right-turn lane
Construct the new barrier wall on westbound SR 84
Install a new overhead sign structure on westbound SR 84
Phase IV Improvements
Construct a new traffic separator underneath the I-595 overpass
Phase V Improvements
Mill and resurface the road along the project limits
