FAA to host Public Workshops on Proposed Air Traffic Improvements for Fort Lauderdale Area Airports
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is hosting four public workshops to solicit feedback from residents regarding the proposed improvements to the air traffic procedures for the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and other local general aviation airports.
The sessions will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at each of the following listed locations and dates:
- April 22 – Old Davie Historical Museum, 6650 Griffin Rd, Davie, FL 33314
- April 23 – Mangrove Hall, Westlake, 1200 Sheridan St, Hollywood, FL 33019
- April 24 – Signature Grand, 6900 State Road 84, Davie, 33317
- April 25 – David Posnack Jewish Community Center, 5850 S. Pine Island Rd, Davie, FL 33328
The workshops will be an open house format where FAA experts will share preliminary designs of the air traffic procedures and answer questions. The agency will accept written comments at the workshops and for 30 days after at this email address: [email protected].
The South-Central Florida Metroplex will allow the FAA to improve regional traffic flow using the precision of satellite-based navigation. The Metroplex project will benefit passengers by creating more direct routes, decreasing congestion at airports and in the air, and improving air traffic flows. It will enhance safety and efficiency and offer environmental benefits by reducing fuel burn and carbon emissions.
