Fireworks SafetyReminder 

As
the Fourth of July holiday approaches, please be reminded that fireworks are asafety hazard and can be harmful to people as well as equines and other
animals.

Chapter791 of the Florida Statutes provides that the illegal use of fireworks is a
first-degree misdemeanor, which means those convicted could face up to a yearin a prison, a $1,000 fine and court costs.

Section
7-3 of the Town Code also prohibits the exploding of any fireworks within 1,000feet of any livestock enclosure, stable or kennel. The general public can
legally purchase and use sparklers and similar novelty items that do notexplode or launch into the air, while large public fireworks shows may be
conducted only by way of a Town-issued license.

For
the safety of all Davie residents as well as your equines and animals, pleaseobserve all state and local laws and enjoy the fireworks shows conducted by
licensed professionals.

TheTown’s Independence Day Fireworks and Family Fun Day will be held on Tuesday,
July 4, 2017, at Pine Island Park, 3801 S. Pine Island Road. The activitieswill begin at 10 a.m. Come and enjoy the fun and see a spectacular fireworks
display at 9 p.m.
