Town of Davie Now Accepting Nominations for the Sustainability Awards
The Town of Davie is committed to ensuring the sustainability of our community’s resources and environment. From the preservation of the Town’s rural heritage to raising awareness about climate change, community-wide action is necessary to fulfill this important goal.
The Sustainability Awards are intended to help honor individuals, businesses, schools, and non-profit organizations that are promoting sustainability within our neighborhood.
Residents are asked to nominate a neighbor, business, school, non-profit organization or themselves, for implementing sustainable strategies and initiatives in their neighborhood, home, school or business throughout the Town of Davie. Nomination forms will be accepted now through Friday, June 28, 2019. Please send completed nomination forms to Lise Bazinet at [email protected] or drop them off in person to the Planning and Zoning Office (Building B), 6591 Orange Drive.
Areas for consideration are: Green Building Design, Renewable Energy or Energy Efficiency, Solid Waste Reduction/Composting/Recycling, School Gardens and/or Projects, Transportation Options, Water Quality and Conservation, Climate Change, Sustainable Landscaping, Provision of Green Products or Services, Local Food Systems, Environmental Preservation, Pollution Prevention and or Reduction, Natural Resource Restoration, Invasive Plants Control, Cleanup and Beautification, Education and Awareness, Volunteer Work, or any related sustainability efforts.
