[ARCHIVED] Honor Flight of South Florida Upcoming Events

Honor Flight SF_LOGO

The Honor Flight of South Florida will be hosting several upcoming events. All members of the public are invited. The Honor Flight Network is a nonprofit organization created solely to honor America's Veterans. The purpose of the Honor Flight program is to transport America's Veterans free of charge to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to honor the service and sacrifice they have made on behalf of our country.

Please take note of the events below:

  • Military Appreciation Day (MAD), Saturday, June 23, 2018

Free daytime activities include a silent auction as well as military vehicles and memorabilia, music, children's activities, first responder demonstrations, craft shows and vendors, food           trucks, video presentations of the Virtual Honor Flight Experience, and much more. See Honor Flight of South Florida website.

On June 23 at 7 p.m., a fundraiser concert will be held at Dodge City Center, 601 City Center Way, Pembroke Pines, 33025, featuring Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, plus Lauren Duski of "The Voice," Ricky Valido and David Bray.

Purchase your tickets online from Ticketmaster.com. Great seats for the concert start at only $25.00. Visit Honor Flight of South Florida’s website and then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Ticketmaster button to secure your seats before they are all gone! Proceeds from the concert ticket sales will go to honoring and flying our South Florida Veterans to Washington, D.C.

  • Patriotic concert, Sunday, July 1, 2018

Get an early start on celebrating the 4th of July with this special free concert featuring the Fort Lauderdale Symphonic Winds (formally the American Legion Band), an orchestra featuring nearly 70 musicians. Admission is free, but we will be accepting donations for Honor Flight. This will be a great opportunity for guardians to invite and re-connect with their Veterans.

The concert is scheduled for 3 p.m., with doors opening at 2 p.m., at First Baptist FTL, 301 E. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, 33301. Many of you may know First Baptist as the church with the famous Christmas Pageant. They are providing complimentary tickets to the Christmas Pageant for an audience drawing. For more information, visit Honor Flight of South Florida’s website.

Help the Honor Flight of South Florida keep our most revered American Heroes, our Veterans, flying!

In addition to the upcoming events, the Honor Flight of South Florida will have a link to log-on to a special secure online auction, with the proceeds to help fly more veterans this fall to our nation's capital. It's easy to take part in the actual auction. From the link you can set-up a log-in, submit your credit card number and put in your bid or bids for the items of your choosing. If someone outbids you, an alert will be sent to your phone so you may rebid if desired. The link will also give you alerts throughout the day regarding the times of on-site activities taking place. The auction items will be displayed in the lobby area of the Pembroke Pines City Center, 601 City Center Way, Pembroke Pines, FL 33025.
