Inaugural Davie Prepares Hurricane Preparedness Open House, May 30, 2018 at 6 p.m.
The Davie Fire Rescue Department is hosting a Hurricane Preparedness Open House for all Davie residents and businesses on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Pine Island Multipurpose Center (gymnasium), 3801 S. Pine Island Road.
The Open House will provide educational information, presentations, and materials related to hurricane preparedness and recovery such as pre-registering for shelters (special needs and pet friendly), organizing your hurricane supplies, registering for the horse release program, creating a plan for your family, signing up for emergency alerts, etc. Several Hurricane and Emergency Experts from the National Hurricane Center, the National Weather Service, Florida Power & Light, and others will be on hand to answer any questions you might have.
The event will also feature numerous vendors including Home Depot, State Farm, Allstate, SERVPRO, HOPE Outreach, Burkhards Tractor Supply, Black Diamond Emergency Services, Publix, Waste Management, Chase Roofing, Cooling FX AC, Red Cross, and Bath Crest of South Florida who will showcase various equipment and supplies.
This is a free interactive family event. Residents will have an opportunity to explore fire trucks, police units, and meet the Town’s first therapy dog, Rocky. There will be numerous giveaways throughout the evening. Refreshments will be provided.
Hurricane Season begins June 1 through November 30. The best time to prepare is now.
