3-Day Cold Weather
Emergency Advisory for Wednesday, January 3 -Friday, January 5, 2018

BrowardCounty, FL- The National Weather Service updated the forecasted low temperaturesfor Wednesday, January 3, 2018, including wind chill, and is now predicting
lows in the mid to upper 40's in Broward metro areas overnight on Wednesday,January 3 through Friday, January 5, 2018.

As a result
of this forecast, Broward County has declared a multi-night Cold WeatherEmergency from:

§  Wednesday, January
3, at 6:30 p.m. to Thursday, January 4, at 9 a.m.

§  Thursday, January 4, at6:30 p.m. to Friday, January 5 at 9 a.m.

§  Friday, January 5, at
6:30 p.m. to Saturday, January 6 at 7 a.m.

Homelesspersons are advised to report to the following pickup and/or shelter locations
(map below), no later than 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridaynights for transportation or access to special cold-night shelters:
City of Pompano Beach
Pompano Beach City Hall
100 W. Atlantic Blvd (SE Corner)
(Pickup Location Only)

City of FortLauderdale
The Salvation Army
1445 West Broward Blvd
(Shelter and Pickup Location) 

City ofHollywood
Broward Outreach Center
2056 Scott Street
(Shelter Location Only)

However, ifthe weather forecast changes to predict warmer or colder conditions, cold
weather emergency shelter nights may be cancelled or extended. If there arechanges to this declaration, they will be issued no later than 1 p.m. on the
date of the event.
