TOWN OF DAVIE TO HOST CHILD INTERNET SAFETY SEMINAR
Fostering a safer online experience for the whole family.
DAVIE, Fla. – The Town of Davie will be conducting a child internet safety seminar on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Pine Island Multipurpose Center located at 3801 S. Pine Island Road.
The seminar will focus on how to create a secure digital environment for children and will feature guest speaker Detective Adam Granit from the Town of Davie Police Department. The discussion will provide parents and guardians with effective communication strategies, tools for managing electronic devices and learning about the latest online trends for a safer online experience for the whole family.
Key discussion topics will include:
- Cyberbullying
- Social Media Awareness
- Online Gaming Safety
- Phishing Prevention

About the Guest Speaker:
Detective Adam Granit has served with the Town of Davie Police Department for more than 22 years and is assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force. As part of his duties, he investigates crimes involving the sexual exploitation of minors including minor sex trafficking, child pornography and enticement violations. Detective Granit is also assigned to the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which is part of a National Task Force. The South Florida ICAC investigates computer crimes related to child pornography and crimes related to the abuse and exploitation of children, including online undercover investigations.
