DAVIE, Fla. – The Town of Davie Fire Rescue Department has been awarded the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline® EMS Gold Award for its exceptional implementation of quality improvement measures in the treatment of patients experiencing the most severe form of heart attack and stroke. The award was presented on July 13, 2023.
The Mission: Lifeline's EMS Gold Recognition celebrates the commitment and dedication of emergency service personnel and organizations in providing up-to-date treatment guidelines and maintaining high standards of performance to enhance patient care within their community.
Daniel Moran, Assistant Chief of the Davie Fire Rescue Department, said “Davie Fire Rescue dedicates itself to providing optimal care for all types of emergencies and this award speaks to the care being provided to cardiac and stroke patients. Our department is deeply committed to community training and expert responses in all emergency scenarios. Comprehensive training, efficient operations, state-of-the-art equipment, and our unwavering dedication to our delivery of care prepares us to handle any emergency or non-emergency situation that may arise.”
Mission: Lifeline EMS® is the American Heart Association's national initiative to advance the system of care for patients with high-risk, time-sensitive disease states, such as severe heart attacks and strokes. The program helps reduce barriers to prompt treatment — starting from when 911 is called, to EMS transport and continuing through hospital treatment and discharge. Optimal care for heart attack and stroke patients takes coordination between the individual prehospital providers and health care systems.
