TOWN OF DAVIE HOSTS ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY PARADE AND CEREMONY

Memorial Day Office Closures and Solid Waste Services Update

DAVIE, Fla. – The Town of Davie and Boy Scouts of America will be hosting the annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony on Monday, May 29, 2023. The event is held to honor members of the United States armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice serving in the military. 

Join us for the parade beginning promptly at 10:30 a.m. The parade route (see map below) will start from the Davie Fire Administration building, 6901 Orange Drive, then proceed east on Orange Drive to SW 65th Way and then north to the Rodeo Grounds, 4201 Rodeo Way. 

The ceremony is anticipated to begin at 11 a.m. featuring guest speakers, Town dignitaries, presentation of colors by the color guard, folding and presentation of the United States flag and more.

Closures 

The Town of Davie governmental offices and Pine Island Multipurpose Center will be closed on Monday, May 29, 2023, in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday. Municipal offices will resume normal hours of operation on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.

Park Information: 

• Town parks, playgrounds and restrooms will be open from 9 a.m. to sunset, with the exception of: 
  • Driftwood, Shenandoah, Waterford and Waverly Park will close at 9 p.m. 
  • Pine Island Park/Bamford Sports Complex will close at 10 p.m. 
• The Pine Island Fitness and Aquatic Center will be open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

Solid Waste Services 

Garbage and bulk trash pick-up services will operate on the normal schedule.
