Community Police Academy
The Davie Police Department hosts the Community Police Academy (CPA). This twelve week course is open to all residents and business owners in Davie and Southwest Ranches and is a wonderful way to learn about the police department. The "Academy" features a series of informative presentations on a variety of topics that will teach you about the roles, responsibilities, and functions of the Davie Police Department. Attendees will have the opportunity to ride along with a patrol officer, participate in police-related scenarios and receive instruction about weapons safety.
Class hours are from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Tuesdays only). All classes will be held in the Community Room at the Davie PD, 1230 S Nob Hill Road. There will be a $25 fee for attending this class.

- Community Policing
- Crime Prevention
- Police Use of Force
- Firearms Familiarization
- You will have the opportunity to shoot different firearms and participate in scenario-based training.
- DUI Enforcement
- Patrol and Criminal Investigations
- Including presentations by the Canine Unit, Dive Team, Motor Unit, and many others
Attendees will also have an opportunity to ride a shift with an officer! Refreshments and food will be provided.
