Civilian Police Academy

Update: The Davie Police Department hosts the Civilian Police Academy. This class is open to all residents of Davie and Southwest Ranches and is a wonderful way to learn about the police department.  The "Academy" features a series of informative presentations on a variety of topics that will teach you about the roles, responsibilities, and functions of the Davie Police Department.  

Class hours are from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Tuesdays only).  All classes will be held in the Community Room at the Davie PD, 1230 S Nob Hill Road.  There will be a $25 fee for attending this class.

  • Legal Issues
  • Community Policing
  • Crime Prevention
  • Police Use of Force
  • Firearms Familiarization
  • DUI Enforcement
  • Patrol and Criminal Investigations
  • Including presentations by the Canine Unit, Dive Team, Motor Unit, and many others  

Attendees will also have an opportunity to ride a shift with an officer! Refreshments and food will be provided.
