Captain Eddie Wong began his career with the Davie Police Department in 2003 after completing the Broward County Police Academy Class #218. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Management, is a graduate of the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute 88th Command Officers Development Course and completed the FBI LEEDA Leadership Trilogy.
He was assigned as an Officer to the Patrol Division, later becoming a Field Training Officer (FTO). In 2008, Captain Wong was selected as a Detective and assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division where over the years he investigated both persons and property crimes. He spent most of his years with the Special Victims Unit and as a member of the Internet Crimes Against Childrens (ICAC) Task force.
In 2017 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to the Patrol Division. Shortly after promotion, Captain Wong was selected to serve as the Internal Affairs Sergeant.
In 2019, Captain Wong returned to the Criminal Investigations Division where he served as the supervisor for Major Crimes. In 2020, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and continued his service overseeing the Criminal Investigations Division, Property Unit and Crimes Scene Unit.
Captain Wong has been a member of the department’s Special Response Team since 2005 and currently serves as the Executive Officer. He also supervises the department’s Quick Reaction Force (QRF) In 2023, he was promoted to the rank of Captain and currently oversees the Patrol Division.
