Town of Davie School Crossing Guard Program

The School Crossing Guard Program is an integral element in providing a safe route to schools for parents and children. The program provides safe bicycle and pedestrian routes to and from school, for elementary and middle school aged children.

The Davie Police Department's School Crossing Guard Program currently has 25 crossing locations in the town for seven public schools. These dedicated individuals work in the inclement weather to make sure our children are safe.

School crossing guards are hired part-time during the school year and are placed at high-frequency intersections throughout the Town of Davie. Crossing Guard posts are usually staffed with a focus on getting zoned students safely to their zoned school. They work an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon. There is no experience necessary to become a school crossing guard, as you will be trained to the State of Florida Standards upon being hired. All safety equipment is provided at no cost to you.

If you have a concern about a particular student-crossing location or any other travel-to-school safety concern, you can report the concern to the Police Lieutenant Steven Bart at 954-693-8375 or email [email protected]
