Utilities employees perform a variety of tasks including repair of fire hydrants, installation and replacement of water meters, maintaining lift stations, water quality sampling, utility line locations, and repair of water and wastewater lines. Employees also maintain water valves to allow for quick isolation of an area should a repair be needed; this preventative maintenance ensures that customers are not without water for long periods of time during an emergency repair and minimizes the area that needs to be out of water. Our field maintenance crews are continually attending courses working toward licensing requirements and for continuing education.
