To qualify for Mayor or a Council seat, an individual must be a qualified elector at the time of qualifying. The individual must also have resided within the Town and in the respective district that he/she may represent for a minimum of six (6) months preceding qualifying for office. The individual must also remain residing in the district he/she represents during the term in office unless his/her district is changed by Council. Should the district be changed during a Councilmember's term, the Councilmember shall remain in office until the expiration of the
term.
Qualifying opens and closes at noon on the respective dates shown below:
District 1 (term - March 2009 - March 2012) January 2 - 8, 2009
District 2 (term - March 2010 - March 2013) January 4 - 11, 2010
District 3 (term - March 2010 - March 2013) January 4 - 11, 2010
District 4 (term - March 2010 - March 2013) January 4 - 11, 2010
Mayor (term - March 2009 - March 2012) January 2 - 8, 2009
