The Town Clerk's Office verifies lien information on water and sewer agreements, lot clearings, special assessments, Code violations, unsafe structures and unpaid utility balances. To obtain lien information, the request needs to include: 1) property owner's name; 2) property address; 3) legal description; and 4) folio number.
The Town offers two types of service and there is a fee associated with each service. A regular search generally takes three working days and the fee for this search is $50. The Town also provides an expedited search, which takes five hours, and the fee for this search is $100. Please remember that searches are conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
It is strongly recommended that enough lead time be provided to have the lien inquiry and remittance sent to the Town well in advance of the anticipated property closing.
