Q. Who is on the Town Council?
Mayor Tom Truex, Vice-Mayor Marlon Luis (District 4), and Councilmembers Bryan Caletka (District 1), Michael Crowley (District 2), and Susan Starkey (District 3).  For more information, visit the Town Council's webpage.

Q. How can I contact the Mayor or a Councilmember?
The Mayor and Councilmembers can be reached by calling (954) 797-1030.

Q. When and where does the Town Council meet?
The Town Council meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. with the exception of the third Wednesday in March following the general election, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Presentations are made at 6:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of every even month.

The Town Council meets in the Council Chambers located at 6591 Orange Drive, Davie, Florida.

Q. Are the Council meetings televised?
Yes, Council meetings are televised by Comcast on Channel 78 and by BellSouth on Channel 70.

Q. How can I place an item on the agenda for Council to consider?
Gary Shimun, the Town Administrator, has final authority of the Town Council agenda. His office can be reached by calling (954) 797-1034.

Q. How can I obtain an agenda for an upcoming Council meeting?
This can be accomplished through several different methods:

 You can view the Council agenda and its backup by downloading the Town Council agenda;
 You can "register" to have an agenda notice e-mailed to you; or
• You can pick up an agenda at Town Hall after 4:00 p.m. on the Friday prior to the Council meeting (it is recommended that you call 954-797-1023 to make certain that the agenda has been completed).

Q. When is the next general municipal election?
The next election for the Mayor and District 1 Councilmember is scheduled for March 10, 2009.  The next
election for the District 2, 3, and 4 Councilmembers is scheduled for March 9, 2010.

Q. How/Where do I register to vote?

Q. Where do I go to vote?
Your voter's registration card identifies your voting precinct. If you are unable to locate your voter's registration card, please contact the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office at (954) 357-7050 or visit their website.

Q. How can I be appointed to an advisory board, agency or committee?
The Town has a number of advisory boards and committees that provide recommendations to staff and the Town Council regarding special program areas. To be appointed to a board, you must be a registered voter and must provide a copy of your voter's registration to the Town Clerk's Office.  If you are interested in volunteering your time by serving on any of the Town's boards, agencies or committees, your resume or the Board Volunteer Form, may be faxed, mailed, or e-mailed to:
