Festival Both Days

The festival will feature over 250 displays and will take place down Orange Drive from Davie Rd. west to SW 66th Terrace.  This portion of Orange Drive will be closed off during the festival.  Free activities for both days includes an arts & crafts show, fine arts show, western town, musical entertainment, Native American display, animal farm, western carriage display, commerce corner, motorcycle show, military vehicle display, and information displays.  There will also be a free kids' corner that includes a bounce house, giant slide, climbing wall, magic show, and arts and crafts.  Admission to the festival is FREE.

Calling all Bakers!... Orange Cook-off Contest

Orange Cook-off Contest will be held on Saturday, February 20th in the Davie Woman’s Club building.  This 10 year tradition is a must for serious bakers! Click here to download an application and mail it in today! Bring your entry between 10:00am and 12:00pm and judging will take place shortly after. Prizes will be awarded for the best “Orange” based recipes.

Strawberry Shortcake Festival
On Saturday and Sunday there will be an old fashioned Strawberry Festival at the Davie Woman's Club located on Orange Drive, on the festival grounds.  Fresh strawberries and homemade shortcake will be served as well as other strawberry creations.

Blackhawk is a musical group of seasoned professionals with decades of dedication to their music. Led by singer Henry Paul on acoustic guitar / mandolin, the group includes Randy Threet on bass guitar and high harmony vocals, and Jon Cloeman on Keyboards and low harmony vocals. Rounding out the group are Billy Crain on lead guitar, Chris Anderson on lead guitar, and Monte Yoho on drums and percussion.
        This line up has played together in different configurations for years and the band is as much a family as it is a touring group. They write songs together, they make records together, and they take the stage together, putting on one of American music's most intense and energetic musical performances. There is a sincerity and originality in what they do that rings true with audiences everywhere. Great songs are the cornerstones of their career and these songs have touched people both young and old.
        Their unique musical character has been a catalyst in bringing non country music fans to the idiom. Blackhawk's faithful followers have continued to grow in numbers over the years based on the consistency of quality in their effort. 73rd Annual Orange Blossom Parade

The parade will kick off at 10:00 a.m. and will proceed down Davie Road, between SW 39 Street, south to Orange Drive.  This Year’s Theme: “The American West”

How to become an entry in the parade
All non-profit youth and adult groups, commercial and non-commercial businesses, musical marching and non-musical marching groups, and all school groups are invited to participate.  Parade entries are FREE.  Awards will be presented after the parade in the different mentioned categories.  Please contact Bonnie Stafiej, Special Projects Director at (954) 797-1163 for a parade application or click here to download an application and mail it in today!  Deadline for all parade entries is Wednesday, February 24, 2010.      

Open Farmers Market
Just like in the old west, purchase fresh home grown vegetables, herbs and spices, peanuts and fruits at our old fashion Farmers Market sponsored by the Department of Agriculture and the 4-H Clubs of Broward.

Family Entertainment will take place on both days throughout the festival. A FREE street concert featuring Blackhawk, will take place Saturday, February 27th at 4:00 p.m. on the Festival Grounds.  Listen to 99.9 KISS Country for guest entertainers.

Heritage championship rodeo in the covered Davie Arena
See authentic heritage rodeo at its finest!  Be amazed as real cowboys from around the world compete for championship titles.  The Davie Pro Rodeo was voted as the best rodeo east of the Mississippi and has won numerous awards rodeoing in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Come watch cowboys and cow gals challenge 2,000 pound bulls, ride bare back, wrestle cattle, barrel race, and team rope.  The kids will love it!  The Davie Pro Rodeo will be held on Saturday, February 27, at 8:00pm, and on Sunday, February 28, at 2pm., in our covered Davie Arena. Gates open one hour before each rodeo to purchase tickets and so that you can come in and enjoy the most awesome country barbecue (with all the fix-ins) you have ever had! Advanced and Group rate tickets are available (at a discounted rate) at the Special Projects office located at Davie Town Hall.

Festival, Parade and Rodeo Parking will be available behind the Town Hall and can only be accessed via Davie Road.  Parking is $5.00 per vehicle.
