A Brief history
In January of 2000, at the request of the Davie Town Council, an ad appeared in the Town's local paper asking if there are, "Any thespians out there?" A number of people responded and became the nucleus for the Town's first community theatre.
A core group of eight men and women began rehearsing scenes from internationally famous plays, with the intent of eventually putting on a performance. Soon, two other dedicated players joined the group an began helping with the planned show.
On October 20 and 21, 2000, the preproduction of "An evening of Scenes: The Passion of Tennessee Williams, The Laughter of Neil Simon" was presented at Robbin's Lodge before an appreciative audience. After this initial venture, a board of governors was elected. Thus the birth of the Actors Community Theatre of Davie.

View From The Bridge
November 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 2008
The central character in this intensely absorbing drama is a long-shoreman who, though his mind is limited and he cannot find words for his thoughts, is an admirable man. When two of his wife's Italian cousins are smuggled into this country, he makes room for them in his home he shares with his wife, his children and the teen-age niece whom he has brought up and whom he has come to love as a daughter, or so he thinks. One of the immigrants, who wants to become an American, falls in love with his benefactor's niece. A monstrous change creeps up on the kind and loving uncle. He is violently opposed to this romance and is not intelligent enough to realize this opposition is not motivated, as he thinks, by a dislike of the boy but by his own too intense love for his niece.

The Cemetery Club
February 6, 7, 8, 13,14, 15, 2009
Three Jewish widows meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husband's graves. Ida is sweet tempered and ready to begin a new life; Lucille is a feisty embodiment of the girls who just wants to have fun and Doris is priggish and judgmental, particularly when Sam the butcher enters the scene. He meets the widows while visiting his wife's grave. Doris and Lucille squash the budding romance between Sam and Ida, then they become guilt stricken when this nearly breaks Ida's heart. "Very touching and humerus. An evening of pure pleasure that will make you glad you went to the theatre." Washington Journal Newspaper.
