Mission Statement
The Public Works Department is committed to provide quality service and maintenance while working for public interests by providing the public with facilities that meet industry standards for their assembly, leisure and athletic activities. The department focuses on trade-tested solutions to a variety of concerns within the Town's right-of-way jurisdiction, while addressing resident-related issues in an expeditious manner. We implement of a pro-active approach, by departmental personnel, in resource allocations and construction techniques for the betterment of the public.
Department Statement
The Public Works/Capital Projects Department is empowered with maintenance of all public facilities, building structures, right-of-ways, capital improvements, landscaping and open space trail systems. The department consists of five divisions of management for maintenance and capital improvements with overlapping areas of responsibilities. The administrative staff handles personnel, insurance, correspondence, vendor payments, and payroll elements for all divisions.
Statement of Accomplishment
The Public Works Department was able to maintain an annual budget through resource redirection while increasing park and trail segments.
The department completed the Eastside Fire Station, Shenandoah Park Temporary Fire Station, SW 58 Ave. Park, Silver Lakes Park, Fire/Public Works Administration Building, Public Works Storage Building, Math Igler Park Site, Parks and Recreation Administration Buildings.
