Q. What is the Town of Davie refund policy?
A.
Class Cancellations - Full refunds will be granted if classes, activities or rental is cancelled by the Town. Refunds will be processed in a timley manner. Please return a copy of your receipt or your confirmation card. Instructors, activity dates, locations, fees and times are subject to change by the Town.
Participant Refunds - Prior to the first day of any activity, class, or rental refunds will be issued upon written request. A $10.00 administrative fee will be deducted from the original fee. After the first day of an activity, class, or rental there will be no refunds.

Baseball - The Town of Davie will provide hats, shirts, stirrup socks and baseball pants.
Basketball - The Town of Davie will provide a jersey and shorts.
Flag Cheerleading - The Town of Davie will provide team shirts and shorts.
Flag Football – The Town of Davie will provide team t-shirts, shorts and a mouth piece.
*If the participant should loose his/her mouthpiece it is the parent/guardians responsibility to replace it.
Girls Fast Pitch Softball - The Town of Davie will provide visors, shirts and baseball pants or shorts
In House Soccer – The Town of Davie will provide team jerseys, shorts and socks.
In-Line Hockey - The Town of Davie will supply goalie equipment, mouthpieces, goals and pucks for all teams.
* This equipment will be kept at the facility and be issued and returned each night.
Q. What equipment will I need to purchase for my child to participate in the program?
A.
Baseball - baseball glove and all purpose molded cleats (metal or screws on cleats are not permitted). The Sports Division also recommends that the participant wear a supporter and protective cup.
Basketball – There is nothing to be purchased by the parents in this program.
*Please note that shoes with black soles are not permitted on the gymnasium floor at the Pine Island Park Multipurpose Center.
Flag Cheerleading – There is nothing to be purchased by the parents for this program.
Flag Football – (OPTIONAL) all purpose molded cleats (metal or screws on cleats are not permitted).
Girls Fast Pitch Softball – baseball glove, all purpose molded cleats and white socks, (metal or screws on cleats are not permitted).
In House Soccer – The participant will be responsible to provide all purpose molded cleats and white socks, (metal or screws on cleats are not permitted).
In-Line Hockey – The participant will be responsible to provide Town approved roller blades, elbow and knee pads, helmet with shield and Town approved hockey stick.
Q. Can my child be placed on the same teams as his friends?
A.
When you attend the player ratings with your child you may request that your child be placed on the same team as his/her friends. Keep in mind this is a request it does not mean that you are guaranteed to have your child on the same team as his/her friends. We strive to accommodate as many requests as possible.
Q. Where and what times may I register my child for upcoming sports?

One easy way to register for any of our programs is to call 954-797-1145 and request that a registration form be sent to you. Registration forms may also be obtained by downloading them from our website www.davie-fl.gov. Once the registration form is completely filled out (one form per child per sport) mail it or bring it in person along with your check or money order, and proof of residency (copy of a current utility bill) to:

Q. What documents will I need to register my child?
A.
In order to register for a Town of Davie program, you will need a registration form, a photocpy of your proof of residency (in the form of a current utility bill) and a copy of the birth certificate for participants registering for the first time. Registration forms may be obtained by on our website at www.davie-fl.gov or by visiting our Davie Pine Island Park Multipurpose or Fitness & Aquatics Center. You may also call 954-797-1145 and request a registration form be mailed to your home.
Q. What would I need to do to get involved in coaching a sport?
A.
Coaching applications can be obtained from the sports staff at the Davie Pine Island Park. Each applicant will be required to successfully complete a background check and finger prints before they will be eligible to coach. Q. How many days a week will my child have practices?
A.
Practices are determined by each individual coach after the player ratings. As a normal procedure, the youngest participants have the earliest and shortest practices, and the older participants practice later in the evening, not to exceed 8:45 p.m.
Q. What happens if I cannot attend the scheduled player ratings?
A.
In all of our recreational programs (excluding all star, and travel programs) even if a child does not attend the player ratings, they will still be placed on a team.
Q. What times do the parks open and close?
A.
April - October parks open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 8:30 p.m.
November - March parks open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m.
Q. Do you allow dogs in your parks?
A.
Yes, dogs are allowed in our parks as long as they are on a 6 foot leash and under control of owner at all times, except at Pine Island Park, Waverly Park and Shenandoah. Please be considerate and clean up after your pet, this insures a pleasant time at our parks for everyone.
Q. How far in advance can I reserve a park?

Parks can be reserved up to 6 months in advance.

Pavilion Rentals – you may arrive any time before the time on your contract to decorate. The bathrooms will not be opened until the time stated on your contract.
Room Rentals – all activities including decorating, setups and clean up must be done during the scheduled reservation time, as the facility will not be opened until the time stated on your contract.
Q. Can I reserve a room at the Davie Pine Island Park for a private party?
A.
The Davie Pine Island Park is not a facility that we rent out for private parties. This facility is reserved for Town functions, meetings, senior functions, and Instructional classes.
Q. How do I schedule a pool party for my child? Does the Town of Davie offer Swimming Lessons?

Pool parties and swimming lessons are scheduled by contacting the Town at 954 327-3927.
