RULES & REGULATIONS FOR PARK SHELTER USE

PARKS SHELTER
RULES & REGULATIONS

Listed below, you will find rules and regulations for using Town of Davie park shelters.  
Please follow all rules and regulations.

Instructions:
1.      Please read and sign the rental permit.

2.      Reservations must be made two weeks prior to your request date in order to take advantage of our
        mail-in service.  Requests made after this time must be paid in cash at the Parks & Recreation
        Department office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

3.      If you are mailing your rental permit, make check payable to the Town of Davie.  The park
        security/clean-up deposit fee is refundable.  Failure to clean the shelter properly, damage to the park
        property, or violation of the park rules will result in the loss of your security/clean up deposit.

4.      Mail your check and signed rental permit to: Town of Davie, Parks & Recreation Department, 6901
        Orange Drive, Davie, FL 33314 prior to deadline date.  

5.      No post dated checks will be accepted.

Rental Rules:

1.      You will receive a confirmation copy of this permit in the mail; Please bring your confirmed copy of your
        contract with you the day of your event.

2.      If a check is not received by the deadline date stated in your rental permit, the reservation will be
        automatically cancelled.

3.      Your security deposit refund will be returned to you in a timely manner after the date of use, provided the
        shelter is left clean after use.

4.      Please arrive at your facility location at the time on your rental permit.  The Park Ranger will wait 15
        minutes after your scheduled time.  If you do not arrive at this time, the Ranger will lock up the facility.  
        This is due to vandalism and security concerns.  Once the facility is locked, you may call the Park Ranger              at the number listed below.  The Ranger will come and unlock the facility a second time.  A $10.00
        administration fee will be deducted from your park deposit for this service.  The Town will issue you a
        check for the remaining deposit.  Please allow three weeks to receive this check.

5.      NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are permitted on Town Property.

6.      No excessive noise or music will be allowed at the parks.

7.      If you have any further questions, please call 954-797-1147 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00
        p.m. Monday thru Friday.

8.      All dogs/pets must be on a leash no longer than six (6) feet in length and under the control of the owner.  
        Dogs/pets are not permitted in Town Sports Complex Parks and/or any Town park sports field, in
        playground areas and/or as posted.

INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS
Resolution R95-29 2/1/95

A.      Passive Activities - shall not be required to provide any general liability insurance. These activities shall include, but not be limited to, group meetings for homeowners’ associations and civic groups; instructional classes for arts and crafts, sewing and cards clubs; lectures; and seminars; and

B.      Semi-active Activities - shall provide a minimum of two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000.00) general liability insurance and shall add the Town of Davie as additional insured. These activities have moderate risk liability and shall include, but not be limited to, classes for dance, thi-ching, aerobics, and golf; and

C.      Active Activities - shall provide a minimum of one million dollars ($1,000,000.00) general liability insurance and shall add the Town of Davie as additional insured. These activities have high risk liability and shall include, but not be limited to, classes for martial contact arts, boxing, cycling, swimming, jogging, archery, athletic activities, equestrian activities, and open public concerts.
